Design Guide

Please keep the following steps in mind when sending us your design:

  • PDF, JPG, TIF, EPS, PSD without layers
  • Please send us two files; front and back separately
  • Texts vectorized
  • Minimum 300 DPI (high resolution)
  • 4 colours (CMYK), NOT 3 coloures (RGB)!!!
  • Make sure that the design has 2mm bleed (with background) and reference line (better!) or cutting lines outside of the design.
  • The design has to have at least 2 mm distance between the text and the cutting line.

1. Format

For the final format ( which is goint to be printed) there is always a 2 mm of bleed requested on each side. For example, if the final format is 10 x 14cm, with bleed it would be 10,4 x 14,4cm.

2. Bleed

2 mm on each side!!!

  • The bleed needs to be the extention of the background or the image. It can't be black or white, if the background is not black or white.

  • Please use the auxiliary lines, not fixed, NO cutting lines neither inside  nor outside the desgin!

  • We recommend to use the second bleed of another 2mm - which is the distance between the text / content and the cutting lines (first bleed)

3. Colours

We always print in CMYK, not in RGB.
RGB is used for web. The RGB colours are shown more brilliant on the screen and with adapting it to CMYK, they might loose on intensity.

4. Files

We recommend sending us the files in pdf , jpg, or tif, minimum 300 dpi of resolution, closed without layers. If you need to send us open files, you must rasterize texts or add fonts and a low resolution jpg of the design.

In case that the design was not realized by one of our designers, we don't take any responsibility as we clearly indicate the requirements for a ideal print. Therefore we solicit that all conditions mentioned above need to be fulfilled and that the files are cheque correctly before forwarded to us.

We can check  and adapt the files on the requirements we mentioned, but the revision is charged 25 Euros. If you desire  this service, it is necessary to send us the open files (psd of Photoshop or Freehand) so we can modify it correctly. The mentioned changes only include aspects for print, not for design.
